Vettech, are you experienced enough as to take of the front and get a rough measurement of the module being used?
This is the best i could do without a complete tear down. Hope it helps!

Didn't realize just how small the diameter of this host is until now. It can't possibly dissipate enough heat for long duty cycles on higher power diodes.

It doesn't look like it would accept 2 18350's either. I was thinking since its a decent looking host some would mod and it could also take a DTR 20mm module?

Yes, it could be milled out if need be! The 17.20mm may be off a bit also.

Those 'clamps' remind me of common microphone holder clips.
Microphone Clips & Clamps | Guitar Center

I imagine they would function the same? The average mic, is about the same diameter and weighs about the same as a J/L PL-E Pro.
And by using the mic clips, that would also allow the use of a wide variety of mic stands as well. All of which are easily adjustable in height, and on average have a smaller footprint compared to larger traditional photog tripods. And there is a wide variety of attachments like multiple mic bars to hold 2-4+ units on a single stand.

All this stuff can be had on the 'bay and elsewhere for cheap too.

I think that's exactly what they are CE5, microphone clips and stands. But I never thought of doubling, tripling or even quadrupling them. Must less changing the stands out. Think that's a great idea, think that would make some fantastic beam shots that way, all on one tri-pod. Excellent idea. Guess what I'll be searching for on eBay next?

If they are indeed the same size as the Sanwu clips ( haven't got my hands on them yet ) can fit a "d" cell maglite into them, just barely. So pretty much all the handhelds I have will fit into them.

Let you know if I made good buy or a bad buy in a couple of weeks.
