Well I have to say they are wrong I have my hl right here in hand and it takes one 16340 battery. WE are talking about the hl532 300mw not the 405 . LOL Still I am wishing for extension for battery.

arent the HL hosts same ? how can some take one battery and others need 2 ?

I really don't think they are the same. I have it right here in my hand and am telling you as I light it up that it only takes one 16340. If someone has an adaptor that would work with this I would gladly buy!!!!!!!!!!!!

the green may do, but the violet doesn't, it takes two 16340. And I was replying to the guy who was mentioning how sucky battery life would be on a HL 405 and wished it took two batteries... so AFAIK I haven't given any wrong information here...

And no the hosts are not (exactly) the same, as some need to accommodate more batteries. Seriously the laserbtb site tells all, go look if you don't believe me... I don't make this stuff up for fun you know.

Trenchie old bud, no need to get upset, I am still a newbie here. LOL I did not see that info on the 405. I just emailed skylasers and asked if it was possible to get that tube extension for the 405 and the 532. If they come back with anything useful I will be sure to let you know. I want long battery life! Sorry if I got my wires crossed there. Have a good evening.

Th e 532 takes one 16340 but the 405nm HL host was brought up because I fried my purple and im replacing g it with a laserbtb one.. the site says that one takes two and it's been mentioned th at extensions are available perhaps that's why it takes two batteries because the HLs all have the same host.. also they offer the 405nm in higher powers which is likely why they fit it for two 16340s .. im also getting a 660nm so I have a collection then working on fixing my old nx-50p host for reasons I've mentioned. . Its a more solid feeling and better host in my opinion and fits a 18650 which gave me hours of run time at 400mw. Plus its the only laser I've gotten from lucklaser that was actually up to spec.. I dont hAve a LPM but it burned materiAl faster then the HL532 300mw did and those are notoriously overspec so it only makes sense th e laser was at least up to spec. However green and violet have different properties and different surfaces convert the light to heat at different rates depending on color of laser and the thing being burned. I know this from my physics education not my knowledge of lasers which is admittedly still quite limited for the time being.
