Ok, so i got this o-like 200mW laser today!
It is focusable, although maybe i got it wrong about getting 2 batteries as i thought i would, to therefore have it small or large, charge 1 battery & use another, apparently its a choice when ordering!! It didn't em that way when ordering, but hey ho, i got 1 battery! But i got a charger, which on the site, it doesn't say i get!!

The laser isn't the one i ordered!, its the same power (180mW, maybe more or less i dunno), but it looks like the one that has star patterns as well as a dot!

I guess thats like ordering a pair of Levi's jeans in black & getting blue!! They are still Levi's jeans, they still do the job, but not what i ordered!!
I bought this one, not just because i liked the shape & power, but i also like the aesthetic look of the sticker & the white writing of 'Ancient Laser V6' on the side, it looks good online!!
The sticker i got was for a red laser & not the same as the one on the site & also the key lock spins around in the tail piece, i mean the whole metalic key area, not the key turning off & on, you have to push it in to turn it on!!

The appearance of the laser apart from it not looking like what i paid $160 for is nice!, it is heavy, professional looking & i am mightily impressed with the power, but i have nothing to compare it with as its my 1st laser.

What i do see, is that the dot is a lot bigger than i thought, maybe thats cos its a green laser & not like my 1mW red! The beam as it comes out of the lense is small, but when it hits something its a green explosion. When the twist top focuser is halfway, i can see the beam expanding, which i hoped i wouldn't & when the focus is fully off & focused out, the beam is litteraly a flashlight, but i'm not sure whether it should be like that!!
Only when the end twist focus is fully focused in, do i get a small dot over a large distance, but i'm not sure thats how it should be!!

I was hoping the beam wouldn't visibly expand as much as it does!! Is this normal, i mean over a few feet unless more or less totally focused!! I expected a green beam, the same narrowness ongoing for at least a few hundred meters, or maybe i'm wrong i dunno!!

Tonight is particularly foggy here & so therefor i may be seeing a lot of beam glare, but even indoors, i see the beam expand a lot!

Can anyone say what is the reason for a fully unfocused beam, as the dot is as big a s a house?
The centre of the dot is to the left of the glare & a couple of strange shapes within the glare of the main dot!
I see no reason to have the laser fully unfocused!, is there one!!

I also found after sales service not as good as what EtherMagic said about Rayfoss! It seemed like after i spent my money, it was a pain in the arse for o-like to reply to my questions!

In all, i didn't get the laser i asked for, so why have the design on the site & when i asked for a sticker i was told it wasn't worth it, even if i paid costs! & whether its a ood buy or not, i dunno, as i don't know what to compare it with!! But i am impressed by the power & display!!

Can i use it fully focused all the time to get the dot i want over distance??

I will hope to get some pics up asap & i guess if i knew fully about green lasers, divergence, the differences between greens, reds etc, i then will know if i have a good buy!!

This is my review, also i got sent a charger & a UK adaptor, but no means of connecting it to the electricity!!
I mean, whats the point sending me a charger & a adaptor, if there 's no way of charging it, like a lead or cable of some sorts!!

Has anyone had this issue, i am fuming, I have been sent a charger, a battery, but no way of connecting to mains to charge!!

I won't be ordering again from o-like!!

COOL you got it!!!

This sounds no different then my Laser when unfocused, yes the beam is supposed to get very very wide!

My question to you is, when the beam is fully focused, does it look like mine in the pictures I posted?

The thing with the beam being big when it hits the wall (even when focused) is that it is sooo bright it just looks that way. Get yourself some Goggles and you will see how big the beam really is.

Some pictures would deffinatly HELP WF!!! If you post Pic's we can all get a better idea of how your Beam looks and can compare to our own Beams. This would also help as just talking about it is really gonna get us no-where if we don't know how it looks. :)

REALLY REALLY looking forward to some pics, really happy you finally got it!!!

I do think that is wrong however to send you the wrong Laser, they need to take that one off there site if it (or the stickers) are not available any-longer, that is false advertising!

BTW, did you get the same Laser as in the 200mW O-Like video review I posted like a week ago?

Thanks

Are you saying you have no way to charge your battery because you do-not have the proper plug on charger to fit into wall socket?

If so, WOW!!!

If you are not happy you can send it back for a refund, susie will give you one. I seen a couple people get there money back from O-Like already. You can get the Rayfoss Laser, it is $12 cheaper too, this is if you truly are un-happy.

Hi

I couldn't find your review EM, is it still there, maybe i'm not lookibg properly, i just couldn't find it! Post me a link!

Yes, when the beam is totally focused, its like your pics that i saw, but there is far more 'wide' beam than narrow, as i'd say 3 quarters of the focus create a wide looking dot.

I do like the wide beam, but am not sure what use there is for it.

I am very impressed by the power, its just the principal & i want a sticker lol that shows a green laser & the power.
It is the same as the one in the video.

Are you tending to use yours more focused than unfocused? I just think as it looks so much better the more focused, i'm unsure if its harmful to the diode or crystal if using focused a lot!

When its unfocused, i can see the beam get wider quite quickly, a few cm from the aperture in fact!

I will get some pics up asap.

Battery is ok, i misunsderstood something! & if anyone out there with stickers can help. i'd appreciate it, as Susie said she wouldn't send me one :yabbmad:, even though i offered to pay the $2 shipping charge which i thought was out of order seeing as i just spent $160 on a laser that isn't the one i ordered.
It may work the same, but it don't look the same & looks are important!

my laser has a similar way of focusing by the sound of it. when the beam is fully unfocused with the very large dot, it should be good for burning things up close. with mine the focus point is about 10cm in front of the laser, so it should be the same with yours....:)

About 10cm from the aperture when unfocused, the beam starts to expand, so i guess this isn't the hottest part or sweet spot for burning!
Should i be able to light matches with it totally unfocused, jut the more unfocused it is, the nearer to the aperture i can burn & the more focused, the further away i can burn as the beam is more concentrated!!

I've noticed it lights darker matches & melts all dark things better than lighter colored stuff!

Do you find that there is a peak power! Like when you've been using it a bit, taking into consideration the duty cycle, the beam is brighter & hotter, whereas if its not been used & 1st time you use it, its not as powerful!
Like it needs to bed in!
Also the battery, do you wear the battery totally down before charging, until there is no laser light at all?

Maybe this is a better pic, working resolutions out!
Will get some outdoors ones soon!

Has anyone got a green 200mW Sticker hanging around i could buy!!??
like the one near the aperture in the image as this is what my laser should look like & as i ordered, except where it says China start, it should say Ancient laser v6. Also this laser is shorter as my battery is different!

Sounds GREAT WF!!! Sounds like your really loving your Laser!

I LOVE MY RAYFOSS 200mW!!! I just went up in the city of Chicago the other day and was hitting the 110th floor of the Sears Tower with NO PROBLEM with my Laser!!!

I'm not kidding man, the Laser was reflecting off the top windows of the building, and I was shooting the Laser from about a mile away straight up to 1,500 feet up in the SKY hitting the top of the tower!!!

I will bring my camera next time and record it! I was hitting 90 story windows easily on the John-Hancock building from 3 miles away!!!

I LOVE MY Laser, I never realized how awesome this was until I went to the city!!!! :D

PS: I forgot to mention that you can actually see the beam going straight up to the 110th floor of the building hitting it!!! It looked like some Star Trek SH*T!!!! SOOOOO COOOL!!!! I'll get some Pics up by next week when I go to City agian! :D

Hi EM
I'm glad your liking your laser although don't get in trouble with the authorities shining it at buildings in the city. They may think its some kind of attack on the city or people may call the police!!
I've been wanting to use mine in town centre, but it will just attract attention!!

I'm unsure about mine & burning!
It burns dark match sticks ok, but the red variety it has trouble with!

Do you burn with yours with the focus all focused in to a small narrow beam & dot?.
I'm unsure whether i should be able to burn things totally unfocused!
The beam is great & unless totally focused, it soon starts to spread!!! I just wish i had something to compare it with!

Green focusable lasers work a little different then our aixiz lens lasers.
To burn thing up close, you want to open it up all the way. Let as much light out as possible. Then move your laser back and forth until you get as much smoke as you can off the object. usually about a 8-12 inches.
This is how I do it with my rayfoss green. When it is focussed to a nice little tight beam. It will smoke dark objects. If I want to light a match I do what I described above.

About the stickers
I guess I get what your saying. My first laser, a red pointer years ago. Had a nice little sticker on it. I was impressed because it said DANGER on it.
But know I just rip them off. I rather have it disguised as to what it is, or what the power is.
