alright ill add pictures but lets get to the meat of the review Ether Dream there you go a link
i saved up for a couple months after hearing the problems with the riya DACs and with the limited and annoying sound card dac i owned well i was sick of it and ready to go for the real deal. the sound card dac worked when you where lucky but still not very well.
got the etherdream in 3 days i think
the setup is a breeze takes less than 3 minutes
originally with my audiolase i thought the problem with my test pattern was the galvo tuning well that may be part of it but not all my test pattern is close to perfect with the etherdream. i will post pics when i can borrow a good camera.
jacob or j4cbo(PL) is the best when i first got it and didnt understand something i jumped on PL irc and he answered my questions quickly and with much patience.
the issue wasnt even the etherdream it was i had not updated LSX
i have HAD no issues with the etherdream
and even at the base price of 275$ seems like allot its worth it
i payed 325 to get the bad ass case and a psu and now that i have it, i honestly think it would have been worth it at 400+
that may sound crazy but the difference between this and a budget DAC is astounding
all i have to do is turn on the etherdream with a SC dac i had to fiddle with it for hours. the ether dream always works and my computer always recognizes it.
the ethernet capability is also super handy compared to db25 cable it is dirt cheap so i can run it 100ft for under 10$
and of course
NO tuning
NO fiddling
NO having to use a older OS for it to work
NO cable issues(riya)
NO output issues(experienced with riya and sound card DACs)
the combo of this and lsx is incredible and POWERFUl :gun::gun:
i wish my camera was fast enough to pick up the vide i even made you guys a show its not great but it was just for fun pm me if you have lsx i can send it to you maybe you can post a video for me??
thanks for reading the long post i hope you liked the review
again sorry about no pictures i hope to get some over the weekend
