Hey, I thought I'd do a review on this host you can buy from Techhood, Laserlands or Rayfoss. It's the same host used in the 'bighead' Lazerer lasers(LZBH). Best features have to be the led hole and aperture shutter.
Where: Techhood
Rayfoss- Cant find it now
Laserlands
Battery: 18650
Features: Key switch- key can be removed in on or off position
Led hole-3mm
Focusable
Aperture Shutter
Removable heatsink (not press fit)
Cons: Flimsy key switch- broke this type of keyswitch from another host with little force. could be one off
Not waterproof
Button and Led hole didn't exactly line up- could be one off aswell
Didn't come with lanyard: Could also be a one off??:undecided:
I will update if my next one also has these flaws.
Pics!
First knurled ring open/closes the shutter, second knurled ring adjusts focus
Lanyard Hole
You have to do this yourself(install switch)
Heatsink retaining ring
You have to epoxy the module at the right position onto the heatsink. Heatsink is not too tight around module
Aperture closed
Aperture opened
Screw lens into there after you extract it from the front end of the module
Lens close to module (adjust lens to infinity at this position)
Lens furthermost from module (burning/big dot)
Overall this is a very nice host full of features for anyone wanting to diy a professional looking green laser.
