Mine is just stuck,to fix it I would have to remove it from the laser, but it looks like it's impossible to do it without damaging the place it screws in.

Yeah, that shutter is crap. To get at it unscrew the head from the body then unscrew it into two pieces. Remove the adjuster ring and unscrew the inner piece that holds the lens. When you have that apart you will see asplit spring washer inside. Remove it and the front piece where the shutter is can be unscrewed. I took it out and reassembled without as it just seems like a screwy design.

Can you make pics?I'm not sure where the head comes out.

Can't you drill a hole in it?

Seems drastic, but if its well stuck in place and cannot otherwise be removed, i'd go for it ;)

I've got it opened without such drastic measures,by stuck I mean it won't open/close by rotating the mecanism :p

how much strength have you put into opening it (assuming you dont care if the broken shutter breaks off anyway)?

I just used a stylus pen(used in touchscreens)pushing against it and forcing to the side

Well at least I'm getting a compensation for the shutter problem, instead of returning it which would cost them $30 I proposed to get a item of $22 for free and they agreed :)

Well mine was going good for 2 days and now after a sec, or so it mode shifts into almost 2 dots when it is unfocused, when it is fully in focus it is a dot, so returning mine.

Seems these have problems, your lucky yours is ok.

try and unfocus it so it is a round unfocuses circle and see if it's ok, mine starts of a nice round circle, then a sec later ends up like this photo.

The red DX200 focusable maybe one of the best to come from DX, mine works great and seen great reviews of the red DX 200 focusable laser

I am sending my one back, it's C===p. Still almost see 2 dots even with a charged up battery.

I am sure it's effecting the burning, because unless I am no more the 1 foot away it won't light a match.

My 200mW red DX bets it hands down.

So wonder if because the beam is spliting to effects the burning.

Even burning a cd case the red is 100 times better?

As a burner it's accually C===p, or my one is anyway. My red DX200mW will still burn matches many feet away and burn through a CD case even 3-4 meters away no problem, but the green is not good at burning unless close up and sort of loses the fun of having a burning laser.

no but it barely emits any IR in the first place, no need to worry.

My DX 200mw Green Laser 18650 doesn't work.

I tried to turn it on and nothing.

If I look down where the green laser is located all I can see is a dim red light.

I checked voltage of the battery and it's good.

I contacted DX to see if I can send this back.
