Just wanted to say thanks to DTR for the new NUBM44 450nm Laser Diode In Copper Module W/SXD Driver & 405-G-2 Lens. Unfortunately, the V1 adapter doesn't have a way to mount the driver so he set me up with Ehgemus from the forums who builds custom hosts. He is going to build me a host that will hold two 26650s. This thing is going to be a beast! I will post some pics once it's complete. In the meantime, can anyone tell me how to post pics? I've had troubles in the past.

You have to host the pics somewhere and then link them.

Lots of options for hosting

Seems like everyone is getting into the new diode.

DTR are you able to heat sink drivers in this adapter? Last I saw your post regarding this, you were still figuring out a way to heat sink driver in this adapter.

Just wondering if there is any update on this.

Thanks

I am working on it. It will be a very tight squeeze if you are talking about one of the units with the full thermal back half on the unit. Without that it would not be a problem.

Has anyone checked the actual ohm reading of these completed modules? I'm wondering if it is really because it's too low for most variable mods. What if we add a 1 or 2ohm resistor on the lead inside the 510 host?

So I found out why one of my mods wont fire this module. Carefully unscrew the end of the DTR module, exposing the red wire inside. Its held in place by a pin. Attach an 510-EGO adapter to the end of the module and screw it almost all the way down so theres a mm or two between the stud on the DTR module and the contact on the EGO adapter. Using a small hex driver, press down on the back of the stud pin. This presses it out a little.

Now put the module back together and screw it onto your favourite electronic mod and see if it works. Screw it down tightly so it presses the stud pin back into the module but "adjusts it" for that electonic mod. I found my zmax v5 would only work with the ego adapter in place, but looks much cleaner without it, but wouldn't fire my DTR module.

Whats happening is there is a poofteenth of a gap betwen the + of the mod and the + of the laser, preventing the circuit from completing. Pressing the stud pin out slightly fixes this.

So now my zmax v5 is presently a green laser. I need to buy more of these for the blue and red I intend to get. The metal matches nearly perfectly. My Mini 30W still wont fire it, so I'm using that as my daily driver vaping machine when I'm over smoking cigarettes. (yes i occasionally still have a cigarette, a pack lasts me a few weeks :p)

DTR which electronic mod did you find varied the power without issue?

Hi,
I have these 510 modules and they work great. Make sure the ground it tight. The best vape mods to use with these are the regular mechanical mods. I have quite a few just remember the duty cycle of these with high power diodes is short. they get very warm fast. For the ground wire i drill and tap a 4-40 thread in the back of the module instead of pressure fitting it between the 510 mod and the diode module.

Necro posting but I have to ask. I have plenty of the version 2 heatsinks and a few extra 510 adapters but these adapters do not fit the version 1 heatsinks. Where can I source adapters for the version 1 heatsinks? Or what hosts accept the version 1 heatsinks threading?
Edit: solution
