I have NEVER used goggles even with a 2W 445.
Never had the slightest problem.
Don't look at the shiny end.

I think anyone that reads this thread should completely disregard this post. It's just ignorant and moronic. Looking at the "shiny end" (slick vocabulary guy) is not the only thing that will blind you, if you catch an accidental reflection, or even hit a bright white surface, you'll have some eye damage at the least if you don't end up blind. I see why your name's toaster, you must have a reputation for toasting eyeballs
