A few general questions to all who got this laser and anyone else w/2cents to share.

While I am sure Dino would like us ALL to make seperate reviews w/tons of flattering photos, how do you feel about those of us who comment on , say Alberts review, and add ours in the process?

Personally I do not see the need for more than ' I agree on all the above comments except'--like in this laser- mine peaked at 27 mWs and btw , I accidently put the batt in backwards:tsk: and thankfully it must have reverse polarity protection.(thanks laser god)

I like to run at least one or more battery down and start on a fresh one before I pass any judgments- Dino PMed me about the review within a few days of getting it.

My other observations---
The clip on it will prolly never get used by me. I added a wrist strap--which I will use. Lessening the chance of dropping it. At least one cheapy battery might have been included. However if sending one with it causes it to be tested and held by Customs--I am all for NOT including the batts with over 5mW lasers.

It did arrive fairly fast and in good shape but , as noted, Dino did not 'overpack' it.
If I had bought it--$28 for 27mWs(guess I got one that binned lower) in a nice host..overall I would have given it 8 out of 10. I think if the price were right I could see myself getting more of these WF-502Bs as hosts for a matching set of several nms.
I will do some photos later and post them in my own thread.

Albert-:thanks:-as usual -nice job on another review.

o_O MY DINO LASER JUST DIED  powered it up it gave me ir then fully shut off. i have tried 8 different cr1223 batteries with no luck :(
i never ran it for a long period of time. it was a mode hopper i knew it was being run to high.

I also agree on that. It's so easy to use someone else's work as the base for your review, or like I've already seen a couple of times, to just add a couple of lines to a quote of another review, however, see it this way: it's their first and probably their last free laser, I've been selected more than a couple of times.

Better for me, worse for them ;)

How did it die? Did it die with the battery inside. or did you use a power supply.

I thought mine did too
batt seemed to be fading and went to put in a 'good' one and no-go

put it aside and tried the next day with one from the charger and its ok

but still only 27mWs
I will some photos and my own review soon.--hak

Just a quick suggestion- try pot-modding it. Unless the pump diode's already shot, overdriving the crystals might just get you a little something.

lol this thing died because i think dino direct pot modded it. and if i touch the internals i might not be able to get a new unit.

I have a request. Can everyone take open their lasers and sniff the inside of the battery tube please? Is it normal for it to smell like some sort of powerful chemicals (sorry, can't elaborate on that. Reminds me of darkroom chemicals and\or glowsticks, but i haven't smelled glowsticks for a few years and darkroom chemicals since i was about 6...)

It might be a dodgy battery, but i don't think so.

i dont have to send it bak. just a video prooving its broken and they said they will replace it with the same or diferent laser of same price.

But you openly admitted you took the module out. They are not going to send you a thing, because it could of been your error. You could of pot modded it yourself, or damaged it taking it out. Not saying you did those, but they are valid reasons. I think you're dicked, but its worth a try.
