Hello all
Today I had some time on my hands and i decided to build the "Copper pen" sinner had sent me!
I started by sanding the inner part of the host. Fitting the copper module in the front of the host. I made it so it was very snugg. And it would go in with a press fit.
Then it was time for the diode and driver. I fitted a fresh 9mm 445 in the copper module:
I used an X-drive mini V7 for this build. At 1.8A it should give the tiny cells a run for their money. With this host being all copper i could go higher but you need to make a decission on how long you want the batteries to last :tinfoil:
Ended up looking like this with a spring attached:
It all had to be very tiny to fitt everything I was building and thought where am I going to put the gound wire? :can: The 9mm has no case pin. So I put wire around the threads and put solder onto it. Then when I would press it into the host the wire will sit pressed between the threads and the host.
The host came together great. I used a 405-G2 lens for this build:
I also had a case laying around which I thought would would be perfect for this laser. I made it like this:
I also made a warning label with the output in it!:
For those that want to see the power better:
YESS :gun: 2.5W of sweetness at 1.8A in a pen  nice!
Some beamshot:
About the host itself. Sinner did a great job! It is very heavy and keeps the laser cool for quite a good time! With the press fitt and arctic silver the laser has a duty cycle of max 60 seconds before it needs cooling. I am pretty happy with that though!
There is a small mistake in the colouring here:
But i have a plan to make it flawless
Thanks for looking!
Robin
