It does weigh a lot (the copper sink alone is 887g compared to my Blord Dominator sink which was no featherweight @ 398g) but I have been wanting an over the top copper piece so when Jay gave me the option, I went for it. With batteries and all, you're looking at nearly 4lbs. Behemoth was the most appropriate description for this massive build. I love it though. My thirst for copper has been fulfilled

I know there are do it yourself kits, but have not tried any.
Prevent tarnish and patina on copper. Keep Copper shiny and new

Regarding keeping copper looking great, I have a bunch of copper laser stuff, and there's one polish that absolutely kicks ass for keeping it looking brilliant, with minimal effort: Simichrome.

I don't bother to clearcoat any of my copper, as you can just hit it with this every once in a while. It instantly removes any tarnish, and leaves behind a protective film, which slows down future tarnishing. The stuff is amazing. (And it works on any metal, not just copper.) I love it.

Hi Andy,
Is this stuff similar to Flitz? I use Flitz to polish a variety of metal items I have from feed ramps in my gun barrels to even the stainless steel bands on my Deep Sea and Submariner. I'll definitely grab a bottle of this polish though. Always helps when you know someone who's used a product that has worked. Don't really want to use this or any of my other custom copper sinks as a guinea pig. Copper is pricey!

Well you sure have a killer laser... best if you keep it for the ages protecting it. A question I would have is how much did the laser ended up costing you. Obviously you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but I am curious...

I've seen Flitz, but I've never used it, so I can't really say.
You won't be disappointed with Simichrome, though. I first learned about it from an old gf who worked in a brass instruments repair shop in Boston. It was the only stuff they used to polish very expensive horns, trumpets, etc. It's relatively expensive, but a little goes a long way. (An $8 tube should last you a year or more, though once you start using it, you'll want to put it on everything metal in your house, lol).

It cost me a pretty penny, but its one of a kind and the materials and machine work you really can't get around. The line item pricing can be found on Jayrob's 2Dmaglite build thread I posted in my initial post. It was more than my one month's allowance from the wife that's for sure

Update: Since I've stocked up a few 9mm diodes, I decided to run the torch for 15mins on one duty cycle. I had it pointed at an old closet door we are replacing which is approx. 1.5in in thickness and this was the result.
