Hello all!. :wave:

It was actually the idea of a blue laser what got me into this hobby... i really LOVE blue and even feel passion for it (for real!, lol), so it has been my favorite color by far since always.

I took a "rest" from the hobby for like 2 years, but still you can imagine my excitement when i finally decided to build for a decent large budget to buy (after 3 years) not only 1 but 3 different blue lasers, all in one bang!! :san:

=== First off the 450nm pointer pen from LaserBTB (a.k.a. Skylasers) ===

Aside from Laserlands, which now have "moved" from their website, ebay and Lazerer (if they are not out of stock) there are not many places where to get a "low" powered blue pen.

Anyways, this is a GREAT option (except for a custom/DIY build of course) for those interested in the wavelength, in beautiful single mode and without the "overkill" of a 1W build.

It took exactly 10 days from making the payment to unboxing it at my home, that is of course including the production process and express shipment time by DHL.

Some Beamshots! :);

It is a 1W which according to Blord's LPM it is practically a steady ~1.3W... not bad at all!;

Shipping took a whole month, was so excited i forgot to ask for express shipping lol... however it was worth it, laser itself looks, feels and works great!.

Blord was very patient and replied all my questions before and after i get it on my hands, thanks!.

Beamshots were taken using a 18650, reason was it made a lot easier to take the pics without worrying too much about keeping an eye at the duty cycle and not having to wait for it to cool off;

Where to buy

It is a Lasever 80mW portable, the very same which was very popular here among LPF some time ago. I emailed David hoping they still was offering and they do!, so if you want to own this exotic wavelength go and get yours!. :gun:

Total cost was $425 including express shipping by DHL as well as paypal fees since i was asked to pay for them... but heck still it is a very affordable price and i was ready to pay a lot more in case this was not available anymore.

Wavelength is VERY VERY beautiful and mesmerizing to look at, not because it is expensive/rare so hence you like it over 445 :tsk:, but cuz it is more of a "true" monochromatic laser color without the purple haze.

Instead there is a homogeneous ice blue color, which "turns" into a turquoise or blue/green color in dark :shhh:. That is very pretty property indeed, cant wait to see 488 with my own eyes!.

445 vs 450, there is an actual visible difference, more noticeable IRL;

80mW 450 vs 80mW 473!;

Thanks for reading!
:thanks:

Nice review!

I think that high power 445nm diodes emit in slightly longer wavelength than low power diodes, so they appear "whiter", more towards 473nm. To exactly see the wavelength, spectrometer is required.

Beautiful beam shots! The 473 definitely looks the best it has an electric blue colour and and wonderfully tight spot. Especially liked the comparison pics of the 445 next to the 473! :beer: +1

They still sell those 473's?? Nice find, and awesome review! +1 when I'm home

@Cel, 1W 445's (m140s, a140s 9mm etc) rarely go over 455nm from what I heard.

Excellent review.

What email did you contact them with? For some reason, I get no replies through their contact us email.

Thanks everyone!, i appreciate your comments and am glad liked the review! :beer:

Ive heard the same and maybe this is a lower diode since the difference with 450nm is apparent, specially at dark because u notice the beam is actually violet as well as the light which lits the room... or just maybe all 445's are like this at lower output like ~200mW or less.

I contacted them thru all their mails at their website (except for the french one)

Contact

They replied me from sales@lasever.com and from that point on all communication were via that address.
