Thanks brtaman.

Now you want to hear what bites even more than that?

I just brought home with me an optical filter, that Filters both 808nm and 1064nm infra-red light, placing it in the path of the Laser beam further reduces the output by a shocking 48% loss off of my original readings                                 .

Ok.. If you now shine one of your proper greens, which is already filtered, through those same filters, and calculate the power loss, then you can calculate the actual green power of this "200"mW laser...

But it sounds like DX has better lasers than that!

I'll do some tests on some other Lasers this weekend with the IR filter I just got, haven't done much else with it since I just got it today.

I'll have to check back in on this tomorrow, work just called (I knew there was a reason they let me leave early today) I need to VPN in and take care of some things ASAP. Company Protocol prohibits me from running any applications or even another computer on the same connection to them, except the mandatory anti-virus protection and firewall; thank goodness they pay for those items.

I'll catch everyone tomorrow, gotta run.

Peace

the product Electron got I admit it is without IR filter , but price is cheap . I have good quality ,with IR filter and can conduct 24 hours .but price is expensive . don't strict with my cheap products .
one more time to say , our QC test power using our power meter which is testing sum of all wavelength .not just 532nm .
If electron don not like it and insist to say it is underpowered then return it back . we will check with our power meter again .if power is underpowered as he said , I apologize and replacement a new .or refund you money .
i am responsible seller . will face up every complaint from customer . a good seller is not just selling good items but also good customer service
sorry my english is not good enough .hope you can understand .

Hi Electron;

The reason I asked if you could get to the pot is that on one of my modules it was way underpowered and not tem00. I moved the pot just slightly and schazam It jumped in power and was tem00. It has run fine ever since. So I am thinking maybe the pot in your laser is at the dizzy edge and just needs a slight tweak.

You are probably thinking that if that is the case they never should have sent it to you that way. However, maybe the 10,000 mile trip affected the pot a slight amount as may have happened to mine.

Now you are probably thinking that you can't try that without maybe damaging the laser by opening it or without voiding the warranty. All of which is true. I am just saying that when it left the factory maybe it did put out 200mw of the sum of 532,808,and 1064nm.

In your case I would say return it for another.

I got 5 pointers and 3 modules from her and all were as represented except for the one module that I had to tweak the pot.

Just a thought. It sounds like she is trying to be fair. There is obviously a language difference problem here also.

 Hi:

I don't think she understands the technical aspect of the LPM business. She was told by the factory that the total power was 200mw and that the customer only measured 532nm as listed on the customers graph. All the rest of the tecnical stuff went over her head and she didn't bug the factory any more. I know, maybe she should have.

How many times does she have to offer to take it back and make it right though?

            Peace,

All thermal power meters utilizing a thermopile read ALL wavelengths simultaneously. You could ship the laser all over the world to all the forum having thermal power meters and get the same results. There is no way to choose a wavelength on a thermal. Period. The only way to filter the results is by using an external IR filter like electron has done. By utilizing said IR filter he's reduced the output of said laser a LOT more than even his initial results.

Just once John.. just once... but until I spoke up she finally said that she would take it back.... saddly with not a good sellers answer... she said she would have it retested... not exchanged for a new one that works.

I don not say will not exchange it . i should retest and check what problem . so I can decide to give a new replacement .

So what happens if you test it and it looks good on your end... are you going to send his original one back to him... the one that he is unhappy with??

Just give him a new one that works and he'll be happy.

Docjohn, she only needs to make a serious offer once, However this is the last email I recieved from Susie that states something entirely different, of-course Until this thread pop-up; now it looks like she's giving in somewhat. I just got back online from my last posts last night and seen your post.

Dear Joe ,

May I know for what use  you bought this green laser torch ? you can see it is very bright and visible  in the night and I am sure it is enough 200mw at power .  and you will see it is cool design and good feel in hand .  it is sold well to many other  customers who don't reflect our power is underpowered .
now we arguing  is no sense as we test it at 200mw but you test it 87mw with your power meter . our QC inspected our products depend on our equipment because we can not use many kinds of power meters as we have many customers ,if everyone ask us to test as their powermeter ,we can not afford .
Can you understand me ? or I suggest you test it with other type power meters  ,you can borrow it from others  .can you agree ?

Thanks

Susie

AND what happens IF you re-test and say it's 200mw's ??     Also you NEVER told me the 200mw's was the SUM of ALL wavelengths, I asked for a Green 532nm 200mw's Laser in the APG style but I wanted the color black instead of silver or green, you said no problem I get it for you in 3 days, I asked for a picture and the next day you sent me a picture with a pp invoice, which by-the-way was $15.00 higher than you said it would cost, BUT Never did you tell me a 200mw green lasers really ONLY means a 100mw Green Laser Output; Either way I don't agree with your after the fact back pedaling your doing now that I went public.

Who's going to Pay for the return shipping?? I can not ship it back to you for the price you charged me for shipping it out to me.  So I send you my money, wait 2 weeks for it to arrive, now I send it back to you and wait and wait yet once again? this will turn out to be well over a month or more, then you ship it back to me yet once again, another 2 weeks, and who pays for that if you disagree with me, is that correct? :-? :-?

Oh don't worry about your English.....my Chinese it not too good either.

Dear Joe ,

I am back ,our engineer said you tested under the pure 532nm with your power meter .the product we provide without IR filter , included 808,1064nm also . if with IR filter at the same time out power at 200mw , we should use 400mw laser source .
so we did inspect around 200mw  before sent out via our power meter .you can see the power meter we use as attached video .pls let me know your ideas

So what they are saying is they are using a 200mw DIODE, maybe; but it certainly won't put out 200mw's if that's all they are using.....no wondering why.....here's their video of their meter in action, I'm looking to find the specs on one;

wow going by that logic I can/should market my rpl as a 2.5w 473nm laser, if I decide to sell it ::)

The excuses and extenuating circumstances are pilling on to the point that it is making me sick, whats next...?

I would give one idea since she asked...REFUND.
