if your building a handheld you'll need a driver and a axiz glass lens never hurt anything or what stix said

I got a diy kit which allows you to build the whole thing minus the lens eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

I want to use battery power for 2 reasons: i have a really good housing and its only 300mw..

i have recieved a quote for a new module for 16gbp incl shipping...that any good? seems steep. Just asked him if thats with a lens.

Update: Max has emailed.

He's offering to send out a new Laser and pay for the return shipping a 2nd time when the faulty one arrives back with me. He's also offering to send out the new one first.

I was hoping he'd say that. It was the only reply I would have been happy with due to the clock ticking on escalating the paypal dispute (28th feb). I just hope it gets here in time.

Fair play to Max though. :D

nice development :)

Oh I see, you're doing a FULL d.i.y build, driver 'n everything. I've gone for the 'just add a diode' option. I've got a good chance of getting it right that way...lol

£16 does seem steep. Is that mostly shipping costs? The modules themselves are quite cheap - $3.49 @ cajunlasers complete with lens, but then they charge $17.99 international shipping on top which makes a big difference :D (thats around £14 i think)

It would appear the address on the 'returns from' I was given is incorrect and the item is on its way back to the UK.
I copied and pasted the address straight from the form to a sticky label, if it was wrong - its no mistake on my part.!

You know what that means? Nothing. Or it means the guy who had to bring it was too stupid to find the adress or just to lazy. That´s why they want to blame you or lazerer on this.

Such things already happened to me a few times with different mail-services. For example once I was waiting for a parcel at home and saw a car from GLS parking directly in front of my house. A guy with a parcel came out and went with it to the houses on the other side of the street. Just looked at the numbers and came back with the parcel to the car and drove away.

About an half hour later I called GLS and asked if there is a parcel for me and they said yes but it will be shipped back because the adress is obviously wrong. So I drove there and picked it up at their office. It was the parcel the guy had previously in his hands.

Yeah, I can believe that. I've had the same thing happen, only the delivery driver knocked on the door over the road and delivered it there. I thought nothing more of it until the fella over the road brought it to me a few hours later.

update 16th/2: Max emailed, new Rifle on way and tracking number supplied. I'm looking forward to seeing 4 numbers on the LPM graph :D

Fri 17th: I do like this DHL tracking. I've been watching the O-like's travel from the east. Hong Kong, Germany, Uk, East Midlands, Manchester (with delivery courier 40 mins ago). Only 50 ish miles to go !! :D

I just stuck a Samsung 3000mAh 18650 in each and ran a LPM check. (4.16v in each battery)
Liking the results. - On spec or more :D

edit; Just remembered the duty cycle was 100 on / 60 off so I ran another test on the 500mw and it was at 592mw on 95 secs - slightly higher than the pic attached. That was on a different battery - freshly charged @4.2v black 'n gold '4000' ( ) mAh Ultrafire.
The Samsung's output was still creeping up at 55 secs. I'll have to run another test on a freshly charged Sammy, I 've got a feeling it might just hit 600+ :D

That's pretty good... both Lasers OVERspec... someone should
let WL know that it can be done...

Glad to see that our LPM seems to be working correctly...;)

Yep, and at nearly 600mw thats 33% overspec as far as I'm concerned seeing as It's advertised as >450mw. I didn't get to 600mw with a freshly charged Samsung 3000mAh, but i'll have another go when my AW's arrive - not that its particularly important, I just like messing :D

The LPM is fantastic Jerry, Its working great. I'd feel like something was missing if I didn't have one now :D

Max - you're a star :D

The NEW Rifle has just arrived - at last , yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :D

Needless to say I stuck a couple of freshly charged AW IMR 16340's in and LPM'd it immediately.

The first run, from cold, it hit 1382mw !! - but I forgot to open the 'chart' in the LPM software so I don't have a picture of that.
A few more runs have given consistent results around the 1300mw mark.

Its probably taken around 7 weeks for me to finally get a working 1.2w Rifle 445nm, but I'm happy with Lazerer customer service and the way i've been dealt with. Max has been a pleasure to deal with - he really is a decent trustworthy fella.

I must nip to the post office and get this faulty one sent back to HK yet again :D

WOW... what a diffence... What is the current at the batteries
now...

I'm sure Max doesn't sit in his office with a soldering iron in
his hand building his Lasers....;)

Manufacturing defects is a normal occurrence especially when
transported from one side of the Globe to the other...

Just tested the current - 1.36A :D

Haha, I'm sure Max isn't sat there soldering away either :D
I can appreciate the risk in sending equipment thousands of miles and manufacturing defects which may appear on route, especially something electronic. It only takes one good knock to set the ball rolling.

Could you measure the current draw of the 500mW greenie too please? Seems you are now happy with your lasers :)

2.21A draw for the 500mw Greenie.

I am happy indeed :D I don't know which I prefer, the Rifle or the O-like crown. I love the Rifle design, but the O-like just feels so 'solid' and much better built with very smooth threading.
