I can't argue with you on something that I have no knowledge of either...
Only time will tell if these new products from WL will stand the test of time
and if there is good customer service to back up that product...

I have personally never dealt with WL... so I don't know any more than
what I've read on LPF...

If I had a bad reputation on LPF I would make an effort to change that....

Wait... I think I already DID...:yh:

Awesome, keep in mind the main feature that is positive would be that the unit is fully FDA compliant, and has an accession # with the FDA making it 100% legal to import and resell.

Well, there is a reference number on the letter. So I'm sure it can be verified...

I can't see signatures of the dude. Also lol at the mammography part.

The phone number is on the document...
all you have to do is call him and ask why it wasn't signed...

The "mammography" part... that department deals with all types
of radiation...

That link Steve provided looks legit to me..

@ lasersbee:

No argument was intended, and I wouldn't worry about your reputation. Wicked has MUCH more to worry about than you.. I agree with you about wanting to improve one's bad reputation, I just disagree with Wicked's methods, thats all..

I just e-mailed Steve and asked him about this matter...

He responded with a link to a copy of the letter that he has from the FDA approving the Evolution Pro: (and other models)

Actually if you read the letter it does not approve anything, it just acknowledges that Steve filed a document. The letter clearly states "This acknowledgment does not constitute approval of the document."

I'm not trying to unjustly discredit anybody, but I think that you're sticking your neck out for WL and I don't think that you are being reasonably skeptical of their claims. That laser is NOT FDA complaint and not FDA approved, you just proved it with that document link. You're being lied to.

^No it doesn't say that it is approved, but I was always under the impression that the "pending approval" notice will suffice in the interim until approval has been gained. You have far more experience than me in this regard, Justin, so you would certainly know better..

I'm just passing along the information that I got from Steve when I asked him about the accession number...

Whether or not they got/or will get the approval is unknown to me. I would guess that this is a process that takes some time. The letter mentions annual reports. Does this letter mean that they have an 'initial approval'?

It is my personality to try to be optimistic if I can. And if it turns out that the laser is not approved for resale in the U.S., then we will all find out eventually.

At this point, we know from the letter that it is at least in the process, and have been told that it has been approved...

Hi Jay,

That letter does not mean that they have initial approval. It doesn't even mean that the FDA has read the application, it just means they got the form. My concern is that WL is saying all over the place "this laser is FDA approved", and this statement is false. Publicizing incorrect info without screening it for validity can be just as bad for your reputation as generating it yourself. In science or journalism it can be the end of your career. I would suggest that you hedge the statements from WL by saying something like "Wicked CLAIMS that these lasers are FDA approved", rather than saying "they ARE FDA approved". Do you see my point?

I mean you no disrespect, but when a competitor of ours starts making claims that I have reason to believe are false, I see it as my responsibility to refute these claims, not just to my company but also to the folks on LPF who have been so kind to me. I do feel a responsibility to this community to ensure that information presented here is truthful. Right now you are promoting Wicked by publicizing information about their product and you are responsible for the truthfulness of the statements that you make. I know that you mean no dishonesty here, but just be sure that they don't make a liar out of you against your will.

I changed the wording to say 'per Wicked Lasers'...

But even as you pointed out, I think everybody knows that I am just passing along the information that was given me.

It's not like my reputation as an honest person is on the line here...

I don't believe that there are members here that are in bed with WL...

I guess if someone was giving away new free LPMs (similar to the LaserBee I)
for Reviewing... I would be up their butt reading between the lines to find
anything negative and speculating on it... but that's just me....

We can only go by what WL tells us about these new Lasers until it's proven
wrong...

IIRC.. there is a country some where that works on the premise of "innocent
until proven guilty"... can't exactly remember where that was...

Don't get me wrong... I'm not sticking up for WL... but I would see it the same
way for anyone...

Dammit, Jay.. stop lyin'...

 ... I sure don't want to be viewed as a dishonest person.

Hey Justin, just curious... Are you the owner of Laserglow? I have not bought from Laserglow yet, but when I try one out, I would like to know who the owner is...

As reviewers, we can only deal with the laser that we have been given. This is why there has been a little controversy with the wicked reviews. Arenared said kenoms review was biased because is didn't go crazy on the price and other's mentioned Wickeds previous reputation, but IMO, using wickeds previous reputation to provide a negative in the review is also biased.

The same can be said with this problem about the FDA approval. As I said in a previous review, these aren't production units yet, and as such might not be FDA approved, but I think the production units will be approved, as that is their main selling point.
