Hello.
Thought I'd do a recap on one of FP's lesser requested-for lasers. Their LP127B. This pointer is a 200mW specified greenie.
(Any problems loading the pics in the thread? reply and say!)
General Properties:
Pointer build quality:
This pointer has an Excellent build design!
I cannot describe enough how good this feels to hold. It has a slick smooth black-polished aluminum shell. It's solid metal through and through. It has an extra expanded heat sink over the diode part. Only an additional picture can describe it:
The push button is firm. It dosen't give Any hastle. It was a very long time ago I felt this confident with a good built pointer in my hand.
It's fairly small. But it by all means feels sufficient!
Beam quality:
The beam divergence is good. It has a fairly tight beam. It has no apparent artifacts. And it has a clear visible beam.
It's very clear in a dark night sky. And/or even fairly visible in a daylight lit room.
Nothing more to say here I suppose
Power output:
So far so good. However the power output disappoints.
It cannot light a match. It has the burning capacity as the "unlabeled" 50mW FP pointers for $14 (FP LP115B review).
The S-LPM (Skin/Sting Laser Power Meter) says somewhere about 80-90mW.
Too bad with this finish on an otherwise great design!
It's due to this not worth it's close-to $53. I've requested a partial refund of FP for underspec. They usually accept this and compensate quite fair. Which is a good thing about FP indeed!
I'll end the review with two more pics:
#1
#2
Almost time to sleep! ^__^
