I've been a little rough with my Yobresal's 1.2 W 445nm and now when you turn it on there is absolutely no focusing so it just produces a HUGE spot on the wall. You can also hear something near the lens or the lens its self rattling around when you shake the unit.

Does anyone know what I would need to do to repair this issue or know someone who does repairs like this?

This is the laser. http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/long-overdue-yobresal-s-1-1-2-w-445nm-review-62165.html

Remove the Aixiz style focusing ring and the lens barrel. Check to make sure the lens is secure in its housing and make sure the focusing ring and the lens barrel are threaded together tightly. Put the lens assembly including focusing ring back on the laser and attempt to focus.

A lot of times the threading between the barrel and the focus ring can get loose causing the lens barrel to not turn when twisted.

Only other thing I could think of - if you have been very rough on your laser you may have broken the lens. If you look in the barrel and that is the case, simply buy a new one.

Hope that helps. If there are typos please forgive me I am on my phone.

PS- look at the output. If it seems overly dim then it is possible you blew the diode from running it too long. IIRC, LED'd diodes don't focus so well.

Sounds to me that the 3-element lens needs a replacement, the laser is still fine if it powers on..

1. The lens nut in unscrewed from the inside where it faces the diode causing to dis integrate the lens elements.
2. What wannaburnstuff said..

I can't think of a third thing!

Carefully remove the focus adapter, and remove the lens by turning it anticlockwise carefully not to lose any of the lens components that may have come off..

If you can't get hold of Luke, I'll look at it for you, for free
If you need any parts, we can talk then
Otherwise it will just be the shipping costs

I have noticed many of the C6 heatsink we use are a little loose in the host and can twist. My C6 650nm build was having some shorting issues due to this, so I opened her up, drilled the pill out while regularly blowing the aluminum shavings off, and then removed the old leads and soldered a better connection since my old connection had twisted to a point where there was a short. I also changed the diode module over to a different heatsink that I think fits better. That tooke care of the problem and my laser was back to lasing. So my guess....somehow when focusing and whatnot, the heatsink turned a little bit at a time until something shorted.
