Would this drive have a burning diode?

Yep -

But unless you already own it, and are asking because you want to give it a shot with what you have, there are better alternatives.

You can buy an LPC-815 drive "sled" for about $10, and it will have pretty much the strongest red diode that you can commonly find used around here. A slight upgrade would be to just order an LPC-826 diode out of the sled, and even that should clock in at under $15.

Another reason you might want to buy a sled directly is that some drives use square laser diode housings, instead of the laser diode 5mm "cans," which are unusable for the "Aixiz"-style housings and heatsinks you'll probably use.
