Will these parts work well together?

So I want to build an iron man laser just like Patrick Priebe. Will these work well together?

I am planning on getting the laser module located at the very bottom right, one up. That comes complete with the module, diode, lenses, and driver.(sold by DTR) also if I don't use the large module piece in the back, would I be able to add longer leads to the diode to driver?

Yes those are good batteries, but not protected. So you have to be very careful of over discharge.

I have some of those batteries for a couple of HID flashlights that I have, but both lights have some low voltage warming system that tells you when you need to charge.

If your not sure about over discharging, etc... it may be better to use the AW protected cells:
