The package came with 5 center drills of different sizes.

I found a document on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/7x12minilathe about threading. Here is the link, but you may need to join the group to access it.

Can I have a list of everything I will need to get started with a lathe?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

In short words, SAE means "thread per inch", while metric means "threads per cm." Of course a SAE thread will not screw on a metric thread, also if the "male" diameter is compatible with the "fem" diameter, as the pitch is different.
In the web you'll find a lot of info about; the first thing to understand what type of threads you have, is to buy a "gauge" set for SAE and a "gauge" set for metric.....

Just to give you a preliminar idea, see:

I have been using lathes for nearly 40 years and I still screw up screw threads, I have found that scrap cameras are a good source of mating thereads, I just adapt them and stick them in place with araldite it works well and is a lot easier

The thread at the end of this barrel is from a camera lens I took apart, the other bit is press fitted into the cap...
