Why isn't my laser as strong anymore?

A couple days ago I got my Viper 95mW from Dragonlasers and it was working and burning perfectly. The next day, it was not burning black foam anymore, and it took a lot longer to pop balloons, and it wouldn't light matches. I replaced the batteries and it didn't make a difference. I went through more batteries but it still didn't make a difference. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if I should return it and get a Novalasers X-100 instead even thought it costs more if I am going to get a new one. But I don't know if they are exactly the same laser.

If the batteries are new, it should be fine... if it still doesn't make a difference you might want to consider an RMA or refund. The X series and the Viper series are both CNI models made from the same manufacturer so basically they are the same...
But, especially around here, NOVA has an awesome reputation for sending out overpowered, reliable units. If it is still within warranty or the return policy, I would return it and go with a NOVA laser. My X105 (X100) outputs 118.5mW average.

toked23- Yes, I am.

RA_pierce- I still have time to send it back and get a refund. Should I go for the 229 deal with the metal case and the NOVA account and lightyears, or should I just get the laser itself?

It's definitely worth it to get the package deal....IMO.
