Getting this out of the way first; I'm on my phone so sorry for any typos. I'd like to know where I solder the negatives wires onto in an aluminum housing. I've searched and read the stickies but can't find anythin.. do I just solder the negative input to the driver anywhere on the host? Thanks in advance for your time.

Use the case pin on your laser diode, just solder it to the negative pin.

Oh. Nvm I got that, but doesn't that the negative need to go through the driver or no?

i don't know but you could test it with a multimeter. what is the current your driving it at?

the clicky switch puts the neg or postive connection through the case so if its postive connect the postive to the case pin. if its neg then connect it to the case pin

I know what you're talking about but wouldn't I have to somehow get the current regulated through the driver instead of having the negative going straight through the case into the negative pin?

Perhaps it would be helpful if you drew a schematic of how you are connecting things. It depends on the driver wether you need to have the diode connected to the case, and how to wire the driver exactly.

Also, you generally cannot solder anything onto aluminium with equipment used to solder electronics.
