i'm working on a dorcy jr build and i'm not sure how to go about bypassing the driver in the light. i did find a tut on youtube - in german. should i try to remove the whole driver module? i've done some searching and not found a lot of info on how to go about turning the flashlite into a laser.
i plan to use my last remaining flex for a driver, but haven't decided on a diode yet.

The only thing you should be keeping from the original flashlight driver in any of these flashlight-lasers is the pill/connector that makes contact with the battery. Other than that you get rid of whatever driver components happen to still be there as you will not be using them.

If the driver is also the battery contact, just remove the components from it

that's what i needed to see orf! don't know how i missed it. i see what to do now that everything is taken apart. i'm undecided about a diode
i'm torn between an osram sm 450 or an m-140 at ~1W. i like the beam specs of the osram, but the m140 can be so much brighter and the specs aren't That bad....
