What is best regarding conductivity ?

I use Aixiz module, and remove bottom part, after that I make threads in
my heat-zink and screw the Aixiz into place.

This is because I think that there will be better heat transfer with threads
that are near the diode, then the other way with the hole aixiz is just pressed and locked into the heat-zink.

Have anyone tested the differense? I tried to search but did not really find something on this part!

The more external surface area of the Axiz module that contacts
a heatsink.... the better the thermal conduction from the Axiz
module to the heatsink....

Yes, I understand that, but let me be more exact in my question.

Do the treads give more external surface than if you put the hole axiz into
a 12mm drilled hole, and push it towards one side of the cylinder with a lock screw.

Oh, I see what you are trying to do.. I think the problem is that the threads aren't as precise as we'd wish for. But I do think that the threads will give you a larger surface area.

Assuming perfect geometric shapes, the set-screw method will net you a single line of contact. A press fit would make contact around most of the diameter. A fit like you are talking about would be tightened, and hopefully one entire face of the thread will be making solid contact with the opposing face of the heatsink's matching thread.

However, if you are going through all the work to thread your heatsink to fit aixiz, which may or may not be the same on all modules, you could instead just drill out your heatsink to pressfit the diode directly into the sink instead of putting the aixiz module in the heat path.
