The mAh rating just has to do with capacity of the battery. Two 1000mAh batteries won't provide anything more than a longer runtime, but not by much.

So I can put in two 1000mAh with no problems? I have extra from my other laser?

The capacity should be the same if they're in series like that. Use either 2 880mAh or 2 1000mAh.

Also Make sure that both cells equal in voltage when the come of the charger. If one drains faster then the other it can cause problems. Also make sure not to mix old and new cells together this can also cause problems.
