I just order a True 50mW from DX.

But while i´m waiting for my new a want to try to build my own laser pen in a mag-light.

A was looking at some videos at youtube.

Do you think my diod is working? And how should I put the cabels? Please help me. This is my diod:

CD=IR diode...
IR=non visible/VERY faint red light
CD player=<5mW...
You should have used an CD writer if anything...
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news...But your diode is pretty much useless... :-/
Try to get a DVD Writer next time...or buy one of senkats diodes...

has everything youl need to build a high power red...though i would recommend playing a little w/ cheap 1-5mW laser just to get the idea...(not necessary,but recommendable to learn how everything reacts to it...though this is personal prefference)...make sure all your comrades are aware that they can blind themselves & others easily w/ your greenie...and have them stand in awe while you point it at the stars and...boom a massive shining beam of beautifully green light  :D seemingly endless into the stars:p

I was looking at the link you posted, does anyone know the outputpower from Sony 16X DVD Burner Diode?

As I recall, the 16x diodes will output about 150 to 170 mW at 250 mA of drive. Heatsink required.
