SX4 build

Howdy All well I could not resist getting one of these hosts and I am glad I did it is a great host for those high power builds as it has plenty of aluminum to suck up the heat

I decided to go with a color I didn't have so I picked a NUBM07E 465nm laser diode from DTR and a SXD-V3 driver from Lazerer.

This is a host that just about anyone can build into a nice laser as all the parts fit together very well and with a copper heat sink and the massive aluminum body you can build a Hi-Power model that will last !

So I got this 465nm diode pushing out 3800mW with a G2 lens and it can run for several min before you start feeling any warmth from the LD or driver, the driver has it's own heat sink which is very a good thing with Hi-Power builds.



I personally think this host as it comes is worth twice the price easily as you can't find anything like it out there unless it's a custom build so get yours before they are sold out

I liked this host so much that I had to make a new custom focus adapter for it, I have had this FA design in the computer for a couple years now just waiting for the right host and this is it, I call it the NEBULA.

I think there is a bit of wood smoke at the far end and it's making the beam look fatter/brighter.

Hi Pyro,
All that is needed are some holes drilled into the beam channel so the light emits from the focus adapter i did this on a custom you made for me some time ago. Man that put the cherry on top pal . Try it you won't be disappointed really..

I like to use a strip of black 30# cardstock and make a tube inside my lens flare hiders and adjusters to soak up the artifacts/overspray.
It makes for a nice clean beam and gets rid of lens flare.

The trick is using the right diameter exit hole, enough to accommodate your beam but tight enough to limit angular spray, also extending the length of your adjuster helps hide flare and overspray.

But this is more important when lasing in an urban environment where you don't want to alarm passers by, but if you live in the country it's more about what you like to see.

Is that the one you had at LEM? That thing was a beast..! It was almost too bright to enjoy at times!
