i too wish there would be something easier than ebay, too full of "not sure what diodes these are" or "as-is" untested lasers

i believe he sells quality products. several people from here have purchased his diodes. he carries a fair amount of stock and it sells out within days.
check on his feedback to get an idea of prices
if i had income i would have ordered several diodes from him already. i would order crystals too and try to make my own green >200mw pointer for about $100 (i think he had the appropriate crystals for that, not sure if he has the right diodes though)

The long axis of the ellipse is commonly referred to as the "fast axis" of the beam, and the short axis of the ellipse is commonly referred to as the "slow axis" of the beam. I would assume a fast axis lens to mean a lens which corrects the elliptical shape of the beam to something more symmetrical. Sounds like a worthwhile feature to me...
