setting current for Micro Drive V3

what should i have the current set to when ordering this driver?
Im going to be setting it up to a 405nm 150mW diode.
i was thinkin somewhere around 550ma's. that sound right?

Only if You want to kill your diode! Go to the diode compilation thread, and there you fill find what you seek.

Oh the V3 will only go up to 440ma max.

What diode is it Exactly. Got a link where you bought it from.? Until we know exactly what diode it is we cant recommend a currant to set it too, as some sellers description can be wrong and you cant go by that most of the time.:)

Probably a PHR diode. If so 90mA -- 110mA should be safe.

From the description he gave "405nm 150mW diode" it sounded to me like a fleebay description. In my experience, when listed like that, it was a PHR diode. And the ones listed "405nm 300mW" are the 6X.

I could be completely wrong, but that is just my experience. I guess we won't know for sure until he posts a link?
