well sure -depending upon what you want to do..

IMO they are just too small to mess with- BUT many use them in handheld 'micro' builds like R+G to make yellow etc- one member built a spiro inside a zippo lighter and use optics from sleds IIRC

they also get used in the 'White Fusion' RGBs

however I am referring to the dichro mirrors in these NOT the lenses-

being so tiny and mounting issues may make that very hard to do- cheap all wavelength (visible) 'G' lenses are better and fit into the AixiZ blank 12x30 modules and no lenses in dvd burners will fit w/o some kind of lens nut-- too small for the ones at AixiZ (hey are standard size)

One day I repaired my 303 laser using one of the little lenses found on DVD-RW drives (the one inside the sled), take in mind that the focal distance must be perfect to it work, unless if you know how to tweak the laser to suit the focal length.

Did you use the outer lens which is nearest to the spinning dvd or did you use one of the inner lenses?
