Hey everyone, my 1W spartan was working great then one day it had a weird beam scatter. I dont exactly know what kind of scatter but can anyone help me out and tell me how to clean it?

Its like a cloudy scatter, i tried putting one of those micro static cloths in it but it didnt do anything to it. ill post a pic of the scatter soon.

Once the lens is damaged or dirty you can pretty much Forget about cleaning it. Especially the 3 element ones. It seems to always make things worse if you try and clean them.

Other lenses like th G1 can be cleaned with good success.

Micro fiber close should not be used as it will leave a smudge on the lens.

Most likely whatever is on your lens is burnt on which is very hard to get off nearly impossible without damaging the lens more.

Best method i found in trying to clean a lens is using those cheap Q-Tips from the dollar store that have the plastic stems. "Not the branded Kind".

Get 90% rubbing alcohol and put a little on the tip of the Q-Tip. dab some of the Excess off on a paper tower and place the Q-tip on the lens.

Once you place it on the lens turn it a few times and on the last time wail turning pull up.

Then take another dry Q-tip and do the same.

Once you have done that with a Dried Q-tip Grab some Compressed air Really quickly and dry the lens off as fast ass you can completely.

If you let it Air dry it will leave the impurities of the rubbing alcohol on the lens. If you can find 100% rubbing alcohol then you wont have to worry about the last step since everything will evaporate.

Tech_Junkie had posted the turn and pull trick and using 90% alcohol and it is by far the best way i found to clean a Lens.

But your best bet is to replace the lens. They only cost 10$ for a replacement if it actually uses the stander 3 element lens that we use here.

alright thanks ill try that and i just added some pix in my original post

i did what you told me to do it got mostly all of the fuzzyness out of it but i can see a line from one side of the scatter to the other im guessing thats a scratch... it still works fine tho... i just used it outside and i can still see the dot on the same tree when there was no scatter or line

My spartan has always had that splash..other then that it works just as well as the day I got it almost a year ago. Its close to the splash on the W.L. Arctic spyder.

^^^ I have ZERO splash on my Arctic. In fact my arctic has the best Dot area out of all my 445nm laser hands down.

Maybe you got a bad Cap/ Lens.

I know the Arctic Caps are extremely cheap and the AR coasting on the High Power Lens Chips away easily when you try and clean it.

All 445nm diodes have that Square next to the dot. You Probebly just never noticed it at first.

You can only really see it at long Distances.
