Default Sanwu Siver switch problems

Just got this 445 3w in and I am having trouble with the button. It will push in but it goes in crooked and will not turn off or on at times. I took the switch apart and tried reseating it back down with and without the rubber piece to no avail.
There has to be something not moving correctly with the metal button and the housing.
Podo suggests a common ruber button to replace the metal onle but I haven't a clue where to pick one up and what the size would be.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ask Podo to send you a new endcap or return the unit for refund or exchange

I agree with Encap, how old is the unit? This is something I think would be no problem for Sanwu to fix or replace. Done a lot of business with Sanwu, and can't see them not. Best wishes and let us know the outcome.

See if they can just send a new tailcap in the mail perhaps.

Your plan B may be available from survival lasers. Either a lens cap or gitd button. Depends on size you need.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will look into the Survival Laser thing. If not I have a guy out east that I can send it to.
This is a brand new unit that I have had for about two weeks. Francis and Podo (maybe the same dude) seem to think I need to purchase a new button.
Otherwise this is one very nice laser.

Wow, thanks real curious, if it's brand new, there's a year warranty on their lasers. So I ask again and see?? Maybe the fact you dismantled the switch?? Let us know what the out come is. thanks, hoping the best.

I agree, Maybe you shouldn't have dug into the switch when there was a one year warranty involved because that sort of thing would most likely void the warranty ?

Hi PB,
If you go with polo's suggestion and try a rubber cap in exchange for the metal one maybe it will work. I tell you what i have two size rubbers one from SL and another larger one . If you PM me with you mailing address i will send you one of each to try to fix your issue before you have to send it back and wait.I can send them tomorrow buddy.

Actually Francis and Podo told me to tighten the ring down first then later they told me to take the rubber out which I did.
Lifetime was nice enough to send me a couple of buttons to try first so when they come I will let you guys know if it works or not.
This laser is too awesome to send back even with the messed up switch.I can always send this switch
To Vinh Nguyen in Washington for a better entire switch.

Podo must be busy cause he hasn't responded to my last e-mail.

What model Sanwu laser are you talking about?

On a new Sanwu laser there isn't any way a customer should have to modify the talicap switch to get it to work properly nor replace the nice metal switch buttom with a non-sanwu rubber button cover.

I don't understand why, if it was a new laser, Podo did not just send you a new tailcap/switch assembly. That would be the normal customer service situation other than returning the whole unit for replacement--unless there was some question as to the switch being a problem or you messed with/took apart the tailcap and switch button before contacting him.

Did you eliminate battery length and connection possible problem which several of the Sanwu Silver owners have encountered? If not, probably is just that and nothing to do with the talicap switch.

The batteries I have are protected and work fine with the switch the way it came new. However, when I took the rubber peice out I had to use one magnet for it to make contact.
When I push the button in it moves over to one side and sometimes gets stuck in that position. I don't know why the button and the housing have that much play, all I know is the tit on the button is slipping off the switch tip and not pressing it in. Maybe if the metal cap had a larger area to meet the button tip it wouldn't slide off.

Just ask Podo to send you a new set of the insides of the tailcap---the switch and components and change them out. He should at least do that much for you unless there is a reason should not like you created the problem.

Could be it is missing a part that stabilizes the switch in a position to work properly either from the factory or after you toyed with it.

Nobody else reports the same problem so...

I think he was talking about the design problem of the silver series's switch, it's not like the switch he got has a problem itself.

This is why we suggested him to replace the metal cap to a rubber cap since the metal tap has a much bigger play of the wiggling/stuck button issue.

Either way, we will send a new switch to him to see if that would solves the problem or not.

Yea me being the only one who is having trouble with the switch is why I wasn't pushing Sanwu for a new one.
Thanks Podo for responding. I will email Sanwu about the switch again.
