Yeah it blows peoples minds, all you need is a 20 dollar smoke machine and a spinning mirror.

When I do the coninuity, I get infinite resistance for all 4 tests. Is this a big problem?

AARGH. I just realized my lipo batteries are in paralell, not series.

And it appears that my red diode and possible green module are dead

Just another quick question on the pots. When you get to the limit, does it sto you turning?

If not, How do you know when they are at the lower limit?

There is no physical stop, but you may hear a faint click and/or feel that it starts to tighten. It's not that important to go all the way down, at least go 15-20 turns.

It should be fine, idk, I haven't cared to find out, so just don't go to far, quite simply.

Hey FML, I have done all the checking and tinkering I think I need to to verify this, but I figured that I should ask you just in case there was something I missed.

I traced all the paths, tested all the vias and everything, and unless I missed something, all 3 lasers, the driver's main power, AND the program/option buttons all have their negative leads going back to the exact some ground/the exact some voltage. If this is so, then is there any problem with just running the positive wires from driver to components, then running the negative leads to a common ground block, and from that common ground block back to the power source negative (terminal or battery negative)?

I can't imagine a scenario where it wouldn't be alright, since all the component negative leads go back to the same "ground" potential (ground when plugged into a wall wart, just negative when connected to a battery), as long as the wires/connections can handle the appropriate summed currents.

ETA: Also, do you think you could possibly embed the photos on this thread and have them hosted here, instead of photobucket? I don't think Avery would mind for this one thread, though I'm sure he appreciates that your LED Orb thread photos were hosted elsewhere over the past couple of days.

ETA2: Nevermind that last ETA, I found the images on the photobucket page, so I have them now.

Nothing will happen to the pot to hurt it !
They have a built in little cluch and that is what makes the "clicking" sound if you put your ear up close you can hear it once you reach the end of travel it clicks once each time you turn it.
when you hear the click your at the end and should stop turning in that direction that is all.

If I go too far, what happens?
