Repairs on 532nm pen

Hi,

I'm looking for someone in the Chicago area to repair a brass pen for me.
First the button got stuck on the on position and I couldn't turn it off without taking the batteries out. Then i tried to unscrew the top and i think that's where I fucked something up. Here are some pictures. You can see a very faint red light inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

dude that "red" light is actually IR and is VERY dangerous. 532nm laser pens are very cheap and you can get a new one for a heck of a lot cheaper than it is to fix yours. please do some reading on this site about ebay laser pens and you will see how dangerous these really are

That last photo looks like you screwed over the KTP unit, which is responsible for turning IR into green light. Anyway, be VERY careful around IR... 200mW of IR will look A LOT dimmer than a 1mW red laser. I'd say just go buy a new one, they aren't too expensive anyway

I had a green 5mw too. After I gutted it from the tiny host to use it in a would-be projector, it stopped lasing green and only IR came out. The crystals and optics look unharmed and dust-free.

They are just too fragile to play with.

Wonder how bad my Radio Shack pen is. I paid $54 bucks for it and it is really bright for 5mW. Says made in China. Solid little thing.

Well it probably is more like 50mW, 30mW IR and 20mW green, for one

you could but good luck getting that module out and then finding one of the exact size. that doesnt look like a newish module but could be wrong since its still in the host

actually looks like a newish style one so you might be able to grab a module HERE and pop it in or just grab a brand new laser for $2 more

it was 110mw laser. where can i get one with that kind of power for 2 bucks?

I was looking at this one.

says 200mw but looks like people are getting anywhere from 120 - 180mv from them.

first is not mv (milli-volt) its mW (milli-watt). i meant $2 more than the module. the modules at FT are listed at 5mW since thats the legal limit in many countries however many memebers here are getting 80-100mW of power

Be careful with cheap greenies... a lot of them are 30mW green with 50mW IR
