Ok, could you please tell us again what you did? All I understood was that you got a DVD burner from newegg, you got the two diodes out but they died, then you built a driver, and then you used a diode for a dummy load, then you said it worked.
The last part is a bit confusing.

ok i got the to diodes out and i wired the diode up to my driver, but they dident work i though they were dead when i first got it ,so about 10 minutes ago i wired the ir diode up and it had a loose pin so i wiggled the pin and now it works.

Ok, I got it. But, what about the open can diode? And which burner did you order from newegg?

EDIT: Do you have IR goggles?

and thats the one had the loose pins was the ir open can and yes i just bought a new pair of ir glasses few weeks ago :)

I wasn't asking about your windowless IR diode, I was asking what had happened to the red open can diode.
And it's good to know you're protecting yourself. [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]

BTW, why did you delete your first post?

like u said it did sound confussing lol i have both red diodes and they both work ;)
