yes dichro, i think these "mentors" are using terminology to keep me confused. (dichro/bandpass filter):thinking:
hmm , methinks those are a good price but the description is very vague.
do they reflect/pass specific wavelengths and to what degree of reflectivity? any source for 650red/532green 99% reflective dichro that can beat $50. ???:whistle:

looking across the net and at some of the linx posted (replies appreciated) im seeing the mirrors are colored, dont remember the ones my mates were using having any color to them @ all? is this a recent development in the mirror tech or something?

I am not sure, I have purchased and recieved them myself, though I have not yet tried them out. I have a lot of other stuff to do so, my entire scanner project kind of halted.

Anyhow, they should be very decent and if you don't like it, you can ask Susie to return them for refund (be nice to her), you can contact her over MSN or Skype.

You can try the ones present in DVD burners/Bluray sleds. I'll be testing this possibility when I get a red and a green laser. ;)

Im prolly not the one to chime in on this but AFAIK there are no green dpss lasers in dvd burners/sleds etc-- (or any other such item) so why would there be a dichro like that in one-- BR- red or IR yes but green??:shhh:

HOWEVER I think irrc there may be one inside of a Ca5io projector??? and it is quite large( big enough to make three dichros.

are you wanting to make a yellow laser?? if so there has been a few posts and I think a tut on this subject. Try a search---wont hurt .

@hakzaw1
... IMO red dichros (from dvd burner) reflect red and pass blue/green.. and blu dichros (from blu ray) reflect blue and pass red/green..

or vice-versa.. just a thought ;)

The "turning" mirror in the PHR803T sleds is a dichro, that left pass green and reflect red and blue.

Not a professional product (it was not made intentionally with this purpose), and small size, but for experiments may worth a try ;)

@HIMNL9
I've found some dichros yesterday. What are the colors of the dichros on PS3 sleds? on white paper? Thanks.

Sorry, i don't have any specific PS3 sled, actually ..... i had some dichros but used and gave away them ..... the PHR803T mirror anyway looks different colors depending from the angles ..... with the light right over it (fluorescent), it looks light yellow-green, looking it in front, but changing the illumination and viewing angle, it pass from light blue to purple ..... same does the others, with different colors sometimes.

Anyway, basically, if you look a white light reflected at around 45 degrees with one of these dichros, and you see it red/pink, and instead looking through it a white surface, you see it green, it's probably a good dichro for pass green and reflect red.
