Questions about a 1.8A build...diode life

hey guys, so i have a custom host that should be on its way tomorrow...i currently have AW cr123's for it and one of jibs 1.3-1.6a driver...but i kinda want to go with his 1.8A driver....anyone know how long the diode will last if i do this?

The diode life tends to be short when run close to 2A. I suppose 1.8A is the accepted threshold. How long it lasts depends on how much you use it. I have one of mine running at 1.9A and it's still alive. :evil:

If you want to run a 445 at 1.8Aon one of jibs drivers, I don't think you can use cr123A's. You should really use 18650's at the least, and he recommends those to be IMR due to the high discharge rate.

yeah...i have the AW cr123's...they're imr and have an 8C discharge rate

soo that means 550*8=4.4A right??

but how short is "short" like 1 hour...100 hours...theyre rated at like 5000h at 1w if i recall correctly...
