That, good sir, is a motor....I am using one out of an old cd player's optical pickup to create the tunnel effect. The above pics look to be 2 diodes in their heatsinks.

Lol I know what they are!
I don't know which diode is which though. Lol Also I CAN NOT get them out of their cases!! Any help there?
Also the motor is super low torque so not gonna be able to run much.

I'll refer you again to read the links in my sig. There are further links to examples of techniques to removing diodes from their individual heatsinks. The process is called, "Harvesting". You are not doing all you can to help yourself here.

You're a genius! Why didn't I think of using my buddy for a host! No machining or anything. He even has sound effects! I can hear all the other members laughing at you right now too.
You are gonna get flamed to hell if you leave that video up! Seriously, that is one thing that'll p*ss EVERYBODY off. Direct driving a diode is one thing in the privacy of your own home when you don't know any better but don't shout about doing it. Even worse, post a video of you doing it. It's obscene and dirty! If you'd have read the material suggested to you, several times now, you would not have posted this.
Don't say I haven't warned you...
(You also no longer have a laser diode right there. You now have a 780nm LED because you didn't use a driver and you have now killed it. If it was still alive it would blind the camera.)

How 'bout if you have a stupid question, dont say anything at all. Read the forum n00b, we all have. If you want to build something, you learn how to build it. How do you learn? You study. After you have absorbed enough, and still have questions, then we will help you. You've read nothing obviously, or you're to stupid to absorb it. Either way you're not going to build a laser. You're going to throw your money away building fail after fail. So save yourself some money, and us some time, and just go away. Go play on some other juvenile forum, only smart people lurk here.

Ya, the name reflects my desires starting out...I have kind of decided that my end goal is a projector because burning stuff is only a small portion of a lasers' potential. But ala, no editing usernames.

Lol you know how much that cost to do? $0 I went to the Computer store and kindly asked the gentleman if he would be willing to let me have all the broken Dvd rws and guess what? He said yes! It really wasnt that hard. I laughed my ass off watching that video. I dont give a crapwhat my rep is here, its not REAL. Like the matrix. lol And you know what? That was fun just to see what I could to with some TIN wire, 2 AAs and a free diode. I burnt the piss out of my hand but it was tight, lol.
