Hey, i`m new at laser building :) , i want to build a laser with LPC-836 diode, normal driver and module and of course flashlight housing

Thats sounds very easy, but there is only 1 problem! :
I don`t know how to press the diode saftey into the module without breaking it!

So first, do you think that i`ll find someone here that sells it already pressed?
if not, can you explain to me how is the safest and easiest way to press the diode inside.

Thanks, Tay

My bad, I thought they were LPC's at DTR's shop.
You can always pay someone to buy the diode and module, press it for you, then ship it to you. I'll do it for free if you want. Just pay the cost of the diode, module and shipping to you. PM me if you're interested.

Or you can press it yourself, there are tutorials out there on how to do it.

I got a drill press vise for 8$ new from a local store. Just make sure the jaws open enough so you can fit the module and the pressing device in.

Can you please take a picture or link a similar picture from the web of your vise?

because i can`t find a cheap one in local stores around my home and the vises that i found in Ebay is too small.

PM Flaminpyro to get one of his diode presses. One of the best and cheapest investments ($15) I have made in regards to this hobby. Then you will just need a vice and an aixiz module with the end ground off.

Or of course you can get it pre-pressed as people have mentioned.

YES get one from Flampyro
PRACTICE with a free IR diode before trying with you red-
take care to not bent it or break off any of the pins.

and you cant go wrong buying anything from DTR--

watch out for ESD-- short all caps - & use an iron with ESD precautions.

any old dvd sled as diodes good for practice..

baby steps..
