I think anodizing is the toughest. It can also be clear coated with urethane, epoxy or lacquer based finishes. They are prone to chipping and lacquer seems to yellow after time.

HA II or HA III would be your best bet for protection. Honestly I dont even know the rating of clear ano but someone like Mike would if you are interested

Wonder if this stuff really works. Never saw it before.ShineSeal.com ::: Protect Your Products :::
They say to apply it in one direction which leads me to believe it is some kind of polymer sealant. I just happen to have a polished copper host to try it on. I'm your Huckleberry :)
I really wasn't wanting to clear coat it. Right now it just has about 5 coats of carnauba wax to help keep it from sulfating.
Isn't that weird. Copper sulfates but copper sulfate is a conductor. Aluminum oxidizes but aluminum oxide is an insulator. Must be why I'm always applying Noalox when terminating aluminum conductors. :)

LOL ! "Intoducing the Ronco Shineamatic" I use it on my Popeil Pocket Fisherman and caught this biggest fish of my life ! Plus it made my hair thicker and my s-e-x life better. :)
The guys at the svt forum are really picky about their wheels. They swear by it. I'll probably swear at it. We will see :)

Well I guess I'll see how long the shine lasts, then decide about protecting it. I could always hack together a anodizing tank. Hey Sinner, does the MS-SSW come with any pre polishing or will it need the full treatment?

So you guys tend the to use hand polishing equipment? Im satill tepted to at least pick up that $40 bench unit. It got to be quicker?

You know me, I will. Good or bad. Hi res pics and all :)

It did seem kind of pricey rhd. But I figured I have two motorcycles with a lot of polishing and I have 5 copper hosts. That's only $10 a piece :) See how I rationalize things. That sounds like a much better deal. :)

Wmacky the only reason I use an electric drill is because A: I have an electric drill B: I like to change out wheels for different grits. Makes it easy.
Every host I have gotten from sinner has had beautiful machine work and will be easy to polish. I'll tell you something else that looks pretty cool I stumbled on by mistake. They mssw also looks really cool blasted with aluminum oxide. Makes it resemble titanium. Not shiny but looks cool. :)
Like sinner said, just start polishing. Your technique will develop what works best for you.
