Hello this is my first post on this forums. I recently bought 2 1W blue lasers from craigslist. the first one was a waterproof focus-able one and the other was the wicked laser spyder arctic III. It also came with the wicked laser goggles, some other pair of goggles, and the wicked laser tripod. He sold it all to me for 300! Thats a good deal right? I did some research and it seemed to be a good deal? haha. Anyways to get to the point the wicked laser is now not working! I have no idea whats wrong. When I click the end cap on the battery indicator turns on like normal then ill put in the combination then it shows the battery life like it should but the actual laser is not on just the battery indicator??? I'm posting this here hoping that someone can help me out? Just got it last week. :/ Any knowledge is appreciated. I'm Clueless!

If your S3 isn't lasing & you're certain the laser is powered up with a charged battery, the driver or the diode could be damaged but it's hard to tell from just your explanation. Did whoever you bought it from mention anything about the laser not working before you bought it? Did you fire it up after receiving it & then it stopped working?

Are you sure you're entering the code it correctly? All 3 lights should stop blinking & stay solid when the code is entered correctly.

Well I have had it for about a week and it was working fine, zero problems. I went through the battery 2 times and when it was about half dead on the second charge i went to turn it on and it did noting other than the battery lights coming on.

Ok, that helps. The laser could be fine then, do you have another battery to test the laser with? The batteries that come with that laser have been known to have problems.

I only have the battery it came with. It still charges the battery seems fine. also If it were the key or the switch the battery indicator wouldn't turn on right? So i think the tail cap is fine right? but I really don't know..

It could still be the battery though, it might not hold enough charge for the laser to fire up even in low power mode. It's not likely but also not impossible. You can search LPF for people here selling 18650 batteries & try ordering one. If replacing the battery fixes the problem, there you go. If not then there's other things to attempt + having a backup battery is usually a good thing.

You're welcome, let us know how it goes & dont forget to use safety goggles! A 1W laser is nothing to be taken lightly when it comes to eye safety, even if you're extremely careful. Welcome to LPF

Just ordered one! Will the charger that came with my wicked laser work for that battery? Sorry for all the questions.

Unless it's broken & the cause of your problem, yes.

If you're serious about lasers & learning more about how everything works, please consider doing some research on this forum. There's a ton on information covering everything you've asked so far & the answers to the next 2 dozen questions you'll have. You can only benefit from learning more about high powered handheld lasers like the ones you have, especially when it comes to safety.

Take it apart buy a driver and wire the diode to that driver. Of course you could jump the tailcap and see if that works.
