ok so i'm going to likely order a diode soon and I wanted to check and make sure i'm reading this right....

It is style C

should be (+ / case / -) right? its been a while since i read diagrams. the way i'm reading this it's case +

well if I remember correctly when reading a diode. the triangle is the + and the line is the - right? so then yes it would be. dunno why I thought that.

yes which in your example the top is + in the diagram.

so in my example in ver c... the LD is the left and is the opposite, the PD is the right. so case is neg LD and PD+

Yup PD is case positive, LD is case negative.
