Hello,

I want to build a 1.6W 450nm laser. It's my not first build. Previously had 635nm 350mW build. I'm looking for a reliable circuit for my blue diode. I want to build power supply circuit on my own. I have LiPO batteries, 8.4V or 12.6V. Is there any possible circuit to be built?

There are several open source drivers in the driver section. The good old linear based on the lm317 should work, but will need heatsinking.

Search for open source buck driver, I know theres at least one on here.

Found some calculators. Is that circuit I chose good and reliable?

Btw, how should I make so exact resistances? Or there are better circuits?

P.S. you can recommend me a good driver from http://stores.ebay.com/Techhood/Las...52291014&_sid=968655354&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 this seller :)

Hmm.. I'm unsure about techhoods drivers, but any of the ones for 445nm that output 1.8A (if this is the current you want?) Or are adjustable to 1.8A (btw, this current should get you ~1.6W if the diode is the PLTB450, which I assume it is...).

Also check with Flaminpyro to see if he has 1.8A x-drives or x-boost. Heres the link: x-drive, x-boost

Thanks, yes diode is PLTB450. To start with, I will give 1.6A only, because don't want to burn laser so fast. Also I will use good heatsink with cooler Heatsink Style TO5 Laser Diode House w H Fan Cooling with for 445nm Glass Lens | eBay. I hope will not fry my laser like every. Last 300mW mitsubishi burnt without any reason...
