Old PS3 lasers

Hey guys,

I have one of those old PS3 laser sleds lying around (Remember when those were popular? ;D) and was wondering what driver could power it that takes 1.5V. If memory serves me right they take 38mA, but none of the existing drivers go that low and operate at 1.5V. However... I could be forgetting one. Does anyone know of a driver that could go as low as 38mA and operate at 1.5V?

It takes 5V at 38mA

I know, but is there a driver that can take in 3V and output 38mA and 5V? I guess I wasn't clear.

The flexdrive doesn't go that low any more.  The Rkcstr will, but it needs 7.4V to run a violet diode.  You know that you can use two 10440's in place of two AAA's, right?

I don't know of anyone making a low current boost driver.

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** or two 14500's in place of two AA's

i would think the lava driver would work, rkcstr takes 5v-6v

Ver. 3 of the flexdrive only goes down to 90mA

The Rkcstr needs 2.4V on top of the 5V needed for the diode

Peace,
dave

Damn, I meant takes in 1.5V, NOT 3. I know this driver can do it, but it doesn't look like anyone's been working on it.

It would still need 2 X3.6 v batteries but the simplest driver for the PS3 sleds is the one below. It is constant voltage rather than constant current but only 3 components are required and will fit an Aixiz module. I used this successfully on all of my PS3 builds.

So basically none of those could run off of a single AA battery?

So which is it? 1.5v or 3v that you seek? :-?
