I have had my O-like 50mw focusable green for a while now, and used it outside for the first time recently. I noticed that the laser Beam isn't vertical/centered with the laser and it is very noticeable, i don't know how i didn't notice at first but now i do. I don't know how to explain it so ill make a picture since you cant see it with a camera =P

Can this cause any problems or effect performance?

You can try popping off the front and seeing if anything is not seated correctly. It's probably the focusing optics in front that are the cause, not the laser module inside.

My Arctic does the same thing, and in my case the diode is pressed off-center.

The angle you are seeing is caused by the expander that is glued on top of the crystal set. The only way to fix this is to open the unit, break the glue and center it.

It wont cause any damage, though it can affect power if the beam is hitting anything on its way out.

Other than that, its just a crooked beam.
