Question Nichia NDB7875 445nm 9mm

I got myself a Nichia NDB7875 445nm 9mm,set in a 12mm copper module with 405-G-2 glass lens. It's driven with a X-drive V6 buck set to 1.8A. Powered by 2x Tenergy 18650 3.7v 2600mAh Li-ion with protective PCB. The host is a Sky-Ray SR5. This is my 1st DIY laser,I didn't know the V6 driver needed at least 5v to kick in. Right now,I have 2x18650 taped together and ordered 4 18350 with a charger. I should be able to fit 2x18350 into this small host withouth use of the greatest multitool ever made, tape. The diode is rated 2.5-3W output 2amp max

As it is,it lights up great. Having a fun time burning stuff and lighting up at night time . My question would be,is there anything else I can do to make the beams stronger? ex;burning faster, longer range, brighter

What other host can I use with a big heat sink and will fit 3x18650 or 4x18350,since I already ordered those.

I'm a noob and ANY kind of input would be appreciated

Hello,
I'm New to this too, I used a 9mm Nichia diode driven by a 1.8A adjustable driver, copper module & heatsink, it only needs 1x 18650 to power it, on first attempt I used 2x 16340 which killed the diode in seconds, oops,
On the second diode I accidentally got some heatsink paste on the optics, so in a 'kill or cure' frame of mind, I carefully cut off the front if the diode with a dremmel, making it an open can diode, now runs brighter & burns better than before, I would not recommend doing this unless, like mine, it was ruined anyway.

The x-drive can run with 2 or 3 3.7v batteries with no problem. If you have questions send you a PM to lazeerer or DTR. Both can clarify 100% your question.

Turn up the current! Adding more batteries would only increase runtime with the buck driver and I dont think you can go past 4 cells.

You can sometimes run multiple drivers in parallel in order to supply more current where one driver would be limited.

Amen. If you want more output, Adding more batteries won't do anything.. I wouldn't go beyond 2, Maybe 2.1 Amps.

Talking Re: Nichia NDB7875 445nm 9mm

I made a build similar to this combination. 2.1V7mini with a9mm using 3x18650 in serial but was too much juice(shutoff@2-3mins) Had to bypass one battery. Runs like three times longer now.
