Hello all,
Over the years I have picked up a small fetish for 532nm laser pointers, of the 4 i have ordered over the years most break with in a few months of purchase, I am gentle as can be on these things and they still end up not working.
For instance my latest purchase was from gagdettown.com ordered 2 100mw 532nm both worked great out of the box, I shelved one unit, and used the other very rarely keeping it in its box etc. The shelved unit now does not work, when I put in the batteries (opposite of what the directions say, but the only way the thing works any of my pointers have worked with the positive facing away from the diode) it heats up very quickly like the batteries are shorting out. Is there anything I can do to save this one? Its mate ordered at the same time and actually used is still performing fine.
