$500 is going to be hard, what kind of powers are you looking for?

When you say laser show, I also assume you want to also be able to connect it up to your computer and control it (like in my avatar)?

You can have a look on my site (Click pic in my sig), I have a cheap set of galvos, but even they are $120 US, then you need a green laser, which can be fairly cheap, then a red laser, which can also be cheap depending on what you want, and blue is the most expensive.

Let us know what he/you want to use it for, what kind of power etc etc and I can help much more.

Laser show that you ca control by pc, and yes like your avatar, Btw i liked that lot, hehe.
Cant I just buy lasers from dealextreme or will they be too bad?
Can you tell me a price that you think i will end up with if i am going to build a 7 colour laser?
I dont know how much power i would need.

Im pretty sure that he is talking about a laser scanner, not a 7-color-laser build

Yes a laser scanner i think.
With multiple colours would be nice.
But we want to put it togheter by our selfe.
What we are looking for is DIY kit that is computer controlled

Well lets see

You are going to need

Alteast

1x green labby w/ analog/ttl
1x red labby w/ analog/ttl
1x blue-ray/ blue labby w/analog/ttl

an enclosure
galvos
and some other stuff, my knowledge is really limited when it comes to Scanners
Laserpointerforums is mostly a Laser POinter forum
You should try Photonlexicon they will be able to help you if know one here can

If you are thinking about a professional build, i suggest you to use beam combiners and "lab style" emitters ..... if instead you're more interested in DIY and experiments, can be used also "normal" modules and PBS / dichro combiners ..... all depend from the result that you want, and how much time you want to use it continuously, imho ;)

Building time wouldnt be a problem, the only probem would be the cost.
We are interested in DIY becouse i think that would be the cheapest

DIY is definitely the cheapest, and photonlexicon is the place to ask, but I would plan on spending no less than $1000-1200US on an RGB scanner such as you are describing.
