Default My laser isn't constant anymore

Hello,

Well i don't know what happened but just someday the laser decided to stop working like always, so sometimes when i push the button the laser works fine, sometimes doesn't do anything, sometimes blinks, etc

It's a 10mW laser from laserbtb, here are some pictures:

if i shake it, nothing but the button (that's normal) sounds, also i have no idea how to open the laser

Could someone help me? is not fun to use the laser when it doesn't work when i want.

Are you in a particularly hot or cold climate? a 532's output can vary greatly based on temperature, have you dropped it at all? The crystals inside a dpss module can be knocked out of alignment in an impact.

Only other explanation I can think of is bad batteries or bad battery contacts.

Batteries are not the problem, i have tried with different of them. I guess the accidental drops could be the problem. In that case, how can i open this thing first? And then check if everything is right?

Its pretty much impossible to re align the crystals in a DPSS module, but I'm pretty sure if there's a loose crystal it wouldn't work at all. Maybe a connection between the driver and the pump diode has been broken, this happened to mine and I had to re solder the driver to the diode.

I have no experience in taking apart pen lasers but I'm pretty sure they are press-fit, so to take it apart you would need a rag and a vice, maybe a little heat to loosen some glue if there is any.

I don't think it's the crystals. Often the buttons for pen hosts wear out. If the crystals were out of alignment then it would show other symptoms.

edit: Yeah if the button rattles then that's definitely the problem.
