Well I got the cheap 25$ green laser from DX which is suppose to be "50mW", but the thing does not even warm up my skin and is barely visible during the daytime so after 30 minutes with the Dremle I finally got to the circuit board of the thing. I found a video on youtube which said to tweak the pot and disable the "03" chip by heating it up. So I only tweaked the pot as no "03" chip was found. But after countless turning in both directions no improvements were seen. So I'm going to guess something has to be soldered or desoldered but I have no idea which. On another board I saw someone solder the two wires/points of the diode that were near each other. Here is a picture of my board:

Dont go by the mod, he switched the lasers during the time he took it off screen. People have looked at the circuits of dx lasers and found that the potentiometer actualy does nothing on it.

...lazer.... ;D ;D ;D

Looks like you have a labelled photodiode on the board there. If you disconnected the photodiode, or possibly shorted those connections you might get better output. I can't remember how photodiode regulator circuits work anyway.

So I would need to solder the 2 legs of the diode like in this picture?:

Also I cut the supposedly red APC wire which i read on another forum people do but the laser is still the same.
